We're still recovering from the shock and horror of the Asian tsunamis; the breadth and depth of that suffering is beyond comprehension. At this time of recovery and renewal, we light a candle and offer our prayers for those who have lost so much. With so much on our minds and in our hearts, I'm taking the "easy way out" with this issue. I'd like to focus on finding inspiration in our business lives as well, and am passing the buck to Joe Vitale. I offer you a candle of business inspiration in the form of an article by Joe Vitale, where he gives his list of favorite e-books of 2004. As you all may recall, I offer a free e-book with each subscription to my newsletter. This year I would like to offer each of my "old" subscribers an additional e-book, as thanks for reading my humble newsletter. So my article this month is my own list of favorite e-books for which I have distribution rights. If there is a particular one you would like to receive, please email me, otherwise I will choose which one to offer. May the warmth of my wishes for you and yours light a candle in your heart. May the suffering in Asia remind us each to hold our families close. Glenn Beach . =========================================================== Feature Article: The Top 7 E-Books of 2004 by Joe Vitale =========================================================== What are the top 7 e-books on marketing of this past year? Here's my pick, based on the dozens I've seen over the last twelve months. "Million Dollar Online Advertising Strategies - From The Greatest Letter Writer Of The 20th Century." Daniel Levis analyzed the record breaking sales letters of the legendary Robert Collier to create this insightful guide into human nature. Collier's letters alone are worth gold; the psychological analysis of each letter makes them priceless. A great education. http://www.getresponse.com/t/304845/ "The Ultimate Guide to Creating Money-Making E-Books." Bill Hibbler put together what may be the be-all and end-all of how-to books revealing ways to create your own e-book, and then sell it, even without writing it yourself. This may be the definitive guide to e-books. http://www.create-ultimate-ebooks.com/ "The Think and Grow Rich Workbook." Pat O'Bryan took a hands-down classic -- Napoleon's Hill's famous "Think and Grow Rich" -- gleaned the best ideas from it, and turned it into an e-book. He wisely gives this one away, which is a viral way to build his email list. Very smart. http://www.milagroresearchinstitute.com/subthanks.htm "How I Made $1,080,496 on the Internet in less than 24 Hours." John Reese's true story is inspiring and instructive. You can read an entire report detailing his incredible success in a brief e-book he gives away. http://www.mrfire.com/trafficspecial.zip "378 Internet Marketing Predictions." This two-volume set may be my favorite e-book for 2004. Mike Mograbi somehow managed to dig under the carpet of the net, look beyond the stars in cyberspace, and come back with some eye-opening facts. http://snipurl.com/Predictions "The Stampede Secret." Laura Childs is a pig farmer in Canada with a love for the net. She spent countless hours researching RSS, which I had only heard of but didn't understand before her book arrived. Her e-book is the best guide there is to by-passing spam filters and cementing a relationship with your customers. http://www.stampedesecret.com "Success Alert." Here's another one I wish I had thought of. This inspiring first-in-a-series contains interviews with average people making mega-bucks online selling everyday things, from socks to magic tricks. Too many books are by marketing people sharing their secrets. This one is by, about, and for the common person. http://www.successalert.net/ What e-books will be the hits of 2005? Ah, let's wait and see... ************************************ Dr. Joe Vitale is author of way too many books to list here, including the #1 best-selling book "Spiritual Marketing," the best-selling e-book "Hypnotic Writing," and the best-selling Nightingale-Conant audioprogram, "The Power of Outrageous Marketing." The issue has been bandied about for years by online advertisers, yet click fraud remains misunderstood. Even with a spate of media attention devoted to the subject in the latter part of this year, a recent panel at Search Engine Strategies in Chicago revealed a lack of industry-wide consensus on what constitutes an act of click fraud. So ClickZ News asked experts at Google and Overture how the two leading search engines define click fraud, and what proprietary mechanisms they have in place to protect advertisers against it. This is the second article in a series on click fraud. http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3453201 AOL Hails "Breakthrough" Against Spam Dec. 28, 2004 By: Brian Morrissey Senior Editor bmorrissey@dmnews.com AOL said yesterday that it turned the corner in its fight against spam, recording 75 percent fewer customer spam complaints in 2004 compared to a year earlier.
